Students have finished their first half of the Explore After SLC program and on the sixth week, we launched the “Create Your Own Big Event” Challenge. As with their first four challenges, students have to research an issue they want to deal with, and plan, implement and reflect on their challenges. However, with this Big Event Challenge, they must decide a topic on their own. Their topic of interest must have some social relevance and aim at solving a real social problem- however small. Then, unlike the previous challenges, they have to then create their marketing plan/campaign leading to the Big Event on June 21st when they will showcase their project in its entirety. On the sixth week, students researched and came up with quite a varied list of issues they could aim at.
Alongside the project challenge, there is a theme to every week. This week we focused on WATER.
On Thursday, keeping the weekly theme in mind, we visited SmartPaani site as well as Saanjha Petrol Pump in Pulchowk where SmartPaani has implemented its rainwater harvesting project. For more info please visit http://smartpaani.com/
